It All Comes Down to

In the dictionary, love is defined as 'an intense feeling of deep affection' but love is so much more than that. Love is the greatest power in the Universe. Love is the opposite of fear. It is the highest form of energy and the most powerful emotion we have. It is a universal language understood by all living beings and can be expressed in many different ways. Our ability to love is immense and unlimited. When we are living in the highest vibration of love, inspirational and empowering qualities such as compassion, respect, forgiveness, generosity, peace, joy, etc., are continually expressed.
But, before we can love others, we must love ourselves. Sadly many of us have been taught that loving yourself is selfish, arrogant, or egotistical. Without self-love, we life in self-doubt, self-hate, and maybe even shame. We are unfulfilled. We believe we don't deserve happiness; we underestimate our own worth and therefore cannot reach our full potential. Learning to love oneself is the greatest gift we can give ourselves.
How can I love myself? Speaking from experience, forgiveness made the most impact of my life. Forgiveness of self. When I released the hate, shame, responsibility, from myself for things over which I had no control, I began to experience major changes. When I forgave my inner child for not knowing how to cope, the love began to trickle in. The more work I did, the more I learned to love myself.

What can you release in order to love yourself? Maybe it's the belief that you must be perfect, maybe it's the negative self--talk or unrealistic ideas of beauty or success foisted upon us by society. Whatever belief you have that is not serving you in a positive, loving way must be released.
When you open your heart to the power of love, you will draw love to you and feel the overwhelming joy and unity of all the love in the universe. Choosing to live your life in love opens you to the power of healing and manifestation. By releasing all negativity and learning to believe in the power of love, you will reach your highest spiritual potential leading you into an extraordinary life.
This Valentine's Day, I challenge you to love yourself. Give yourself the love you need every day, the love you needed as a child, the love you deserve. Allow it to fill you up and overflow. Then share it with the world.
